African/Kenyan Gospel hip-hop artist Johnson Mwaniki also known as MC JOE currently a student at Daystar university valley road campus Nairobi doing mass communication was born in Eastern Province Kenya as the first born from a family of 4.He attended Kathonzweni A.I.C Boarding primary School before going to Campbell high school for his o levels in Eastern Province. His musical journey started i...n 2003 when a friend severally told him that he would become a musician one day because he was fond of rapping other artist`s songs very well. For the first utterance he thought it was a joke but after a second and third time he decided to take action coz he thought God was using the friend to communicate that message to him. After he got back to the class he took a pen and a paper and tried to write his 2 bars. It wasn’t long before he postponed the art because rhymes didn’t come that easy as he had expected. The following year in standard seven he heard that there was a newcomer in their school in standard 5 who had an album comprised of 11 songs and decided to work harder to compose his own rhymes coz he did not see how someone in a lower class could be smarter than him. Coming from a Christian background and getting saved at an early age MC JOE had decided from the word go that he was going to sing songs that praised God though there were few artists doing Christian rap at that time that he knew. In 2005 he started to present during church services in the chapel and the reception was good. He carried that on to Campbell high school and continued to grow his music art. HIS MUSIC which includes freshlight and Kingdom seeking has been received well in Africa and also some parts of the UK and the US. MC JOE is determined to take the word of God to different parts of the world through music.查看更多
