Arie Band is a group that was formed around the main singer, Arie. She was present for the auditioning process searching for her fellow bandmates. She said that although musical talents were important, she also valued how well she clicked with the members.  After the final selection, Arie described her bandmates. The youngest member, drummer Lee Hyun-joo is the cute, charming one that keeps the vibe fun, positive, and upbeat. Bassist Im Ji-hye is more on the mature side that can be described as the sexy one. Guitarist Choi Jin-ah is a bit on the quiet and stoic side. Arie sang praises about Hyun-joo, saying that she was hands down the one that received the most love and care from the older members.  Musical fans may actually recognize lead singer, Arie from her role in musicals. Before her debut as a singer, she acted in “Romeo and Juliet”. That’s when and how she said she came to switch her attitude towards music. Whereas she simply enjoyed singing before, she started to build up desire to get good at it.  Arie Band seeks to introduce and spread the genre of “candy rock”. Candy rock can be described as a fusion between rock and dance music. It’s much more upbeat and energizing than rock, yet a bit heavier than pure dance tracks. With their different style of music, the group has been noted as a breath of fresh air on the k-pop music scene.
