With a moniker that is as simple as it is infamous, familial pop/rock duo Len producer/vocalist Mark Costanzo and sister/vocalist/bassist Sharon Costanzo have long been one of Canada’s most straight-shooting, uncompromising and dedicated acts.  Issuing five revered albums in their storied career, the Toronto, Ontario based couplet’s matchlessly virulent, innovative tones and sugary melodies blend with shuffling rhythms to create the perfect foundation for their inherently unique and enthralling vocal styles.  Still, as Costanzo notes, Len wasn’t created so much as it came together naturally, providing an outlet for the brother/sister to create, realizing the sounds and vocal melodies they had been crafting internally since childhood.  “We didn’t really start a group. We just started making music together because that’s all we had: the family of her and myself,” he shrugs. “The first album (1994’s Superstar) was recorded at home because that’s a comfortable atmosphere for us. Actually, that’s exactly how we’ve worked for the past 16 years.”  One can’t argue with Len’s practice of recording in uninterrupted solace. Accruing results including international attention, certified gold sales status, chart-topping hits, enduring business relationships and undying praise, Len’s canon of work is equal parts enviable and inimitable.
